Description

With current estimates that over 30% of children struggle with anxiety, it’s virtually impossible to be in clinical practice and not have anxious families show up, desperate for help. The demand for skilled specialists is high, and clinicians should be using the most effective, creative, and active strategies.

The key to success, ever more apparent to me after working with thousands of families, is providing a clear plan for HOW to respond when anxiety shows up. Anxiety runs strongly in families and that parent coaching is instrumental to successful treatment.

The biggest complaint I hear from parents who have tried to find help? “No one told us what to DO!”

It’s time to take your practice to the next level by offering the skills families are looking for and need.

This unique two-day intensive will give you experiential opportunities to spark your own creativity, feel reinvigorated, and connect with other clinicians. There will be ample opportunity for questions, practice, and support.

This training will give mental health professionals the skills needed to:

• Master the use of a process-based strategy in the treatment of anxious families

• Create experiential homework assignments for families that focus on skill-building

• Target your use of relaxation, metaphor, and visualization for greater impact

• Untangle complicated presentations that include depression, self-harm, social and family complications

• Reinvigorate your practice and establish yourself as a specialist with up-to-date and active interventions

Who May Attend?

This is an intermediate to advanced level training appropriate for licensed mental health and health care providers including:  Social Workers, Psychologists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Family Therapists, School Counselors/Psychologists, Nurses, Physicians, Psychiatrists

CEs will be available to social workers, psychologists, licensed marriage & family therapists, licensed professional counselors/licensed mental health counselors and nurses through Commonwealth Seminars. It is the participant’s responsibility to check with their individual state boards to verify CE requirements for their state and profession.
